The Cold Sore Cure – My Story

November 25th, 2009 Tim Marshal No comments

I used to want to know the cold sore cure as well, I was told by people that I’d always have cold sores for my entire life. Don’t believe those people who said there is no way to prevent yourself from ever getting cold sores!

Hey guys,

If you’re looking for an effective and natural cold sore cure, I’m glad you came across my site. If you suffer from cold sores, continue reading my story…

This is my story about my battle and search to stop cold sores from popping up at the most unexpected times (they showed up 2 hours before my second date with a girl I was seeing). I’ll tell you about the ups, the downs, what didn’t work, and then the one thing that I came across to show me the cure for cold sores.

As you may have already known, I started developing these nasty little blisters at the age of 12. I don’t know exactly when I contracted the virus because many times the virus can stay dormant for years and then just show up when the body undergoes a form of stress. Once I started to become attractive to girls, I knew I had to figure out how to cure a cold sore.

The cold sore cures that didn’t work!

I first went to my doctor. He told me that I would be stuck with the problem for my life and that my best option would be to use over the counter medicines whenever I had an outbreak. Two problems with that option:

  1. The medicines were EXPENSIVE – one tube that was the size of the diameter of a quarter was over 17 dollars!
  2. The redness and pain wouldn’t go away for about a week after I first started using the medicine.
  3. Next I saw a cold sore remedy that told me to put ice on it for 20 min on 10 min off for a 2 hour span at the first sign of it and then apply toothpaste to the cold sore and leave it there for 5 days. While this did cause the blisters to crust up and form new skin, I had to walk around with toothpaste on my lips for 5 days. Not to mention, none of these methods were a end all cure to the problem, they were only cover ups to the problem!

I finally found the Cold Sore Cure!

Eventually I came across Cold Sore Free Forever! While I was not only skeptical about the fact that it was something you could only find on the internet and it required some work to achieve cold sore freedom, I decided it was worth the shot and tried out the product. To my amazement, I haven’t had a cold sore since I bought the product!

Cold Sore Cures that haven’t worked for me

November 21st, 2009 Tim Marshal No comments

I suffered from cold sores for about 9 years before I was able to find the cold sore cure that worked for me. So I guess you could say that I have a wealth of experience dealing with cold sores.

Once I reached puberty and the attraction to the opposite sex came into account, I became a lot more aware and self conscious about my cold sore problem. From then, I set out to figure out how to cure a cold sore. In those years, I’ve come across and have tried various methods including:

  • Toothpaste – While this is an old time cold sore remedy, it is not a fast cold sore cure, nor practical. It takes several days before the blister starts to crust up (not very pretty) and you have to leave the toothpaste on your face for several days. I really hated walking about with toothpaste on my lip for 3 days.
  • OTC (over the counter) products – extremely expensive, a tube about the site of half my thumb was $17.59! On top of that, they were very hit or miss when it came to effectiveness. Some times they worked, others they didn’t
  • Apple Cider Vinegar – Yikes! Have you ever realized how acidic vinegar is? If you’re brave enough, try putting some apple cider vinegar on raw skin and see how painful it is. The remedy called for me to leave the apple cider vinegar on my cold sore over night and it would cure in 3 days. I couldn’t even last an hour with the burning pain.
  • Ice – Ice is not a cure for cold sores, instead, it just reduces swelling and attempts to keep the virus from reaching the outer skin. You apply the ice for 20 min on, 10 min off, for 2 hours at the onset of the cold sore. It works if you have a bad outbreak but it doesn’t get rid of the cold sores, just reduces the redness and size.
  • These are the most commonly hear of methods for a cold sore cure that I’ve found on the internet. I’ve done them all and will tell you, they can be painful, expensive, or ineffective, but none of them really gets rid of the cold sores.
